Happy House, Buffalo Stars, Eat It! A weekend in Concrete

Another delicious weekend in Concrete!

Girlcore DJs Naomi and Kirsten helped kicked off the weekend in Concrete with their fabulous, fun and eclectic night, Happy House, on Thursday … and what a treat it was. Bringing down their friend Cocknbullkid to help DJ, the girls were spinning and twirling and tearing up the DJ booth while the music hungry Concreters danced the night away.

Alejandro Acensio and Cathal galloped into Concrete on Friday night and put on Buffalo Stars. Think all the great music that you’ve ever loved to dance to but never knew the name of. It was bang on the money. My shoulders were all over the place as I tried to copy the dancing on TV screens; there were old skool videos of kids in Harlem jump-roping, techni-colour music videos and some neck-waving, hands in the face 80s chat show drama. Divine.

Saturday saw Eat It! descend on Concrete and they brought Concrete down. There was so much delicious 80s pop, electro sexiness that I became delirious. The drag queens were out in full force, there was glitter everywhere and there wasn’t one person in the room who wasn’t dancing their pretty little legs off. Eat It! was amazing, but then again, those guys always are.

This week we’re celebrating Colombia’s 200th anniversary of independence with Naughty-Cool Colombia on Thursday, rocking out to Triangle’s electro-pop on Friday and getting down with Arcobaleno’s infectious disco. Yet another not-to-be-missed weekend in Concrete.

See you on the dance floor!
